Workshop Overview

Digital Innovation Hubs are at the heart of Africa’s agricultural transformation, and onboarding them into the global digital ecosystem is essential. This workshop introduces the DIH onboarding playbook, developed with Wageningen Research and the GIZ-funded Make-IT Africa initiative, which outlines key strategies for fostering innovation in African food systems.

Participants will gain insights from our experiences with innovation hubs like the Aglobe Development Centre in Nigeria and explore pathways for the sustainable development of DIHs across Africa. The session will also tackle pressing challenges, including weaker digital infrastructures and the need for partnerships to drive long-term growth.

Main Objectives

By attending, you will:

  • Discover how the DIH onboarding playbook can aid African hubs in engaging with digital ecosystems.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the structural challenges faced by African DIHs and the solutions that can help overcome them.
  • Build connections with other innovators and partners in both Africa and Europe to collaborate on driving agricultural innovation.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is ideal for:

  • African and European Digital Innovation Hubs
  • Representatives from global development agencies
  • Food system actors engaged with the INCiTiS-FOOD and FoodSafety4Africa projects
